Job description: Responsible for the overall management of the JROTC unit at Guthrie High School. Manage and conduct the JROTC unit according to school rules, Army regulations and Cadet Command policies. Advise school authorities on policy and regulation changes within CCR 145-2. Maintain good relations with school authorities, faculty, the student body, community officials and civic groups. Enroll students in JROTC and support school officials while executing the curriculum and the integrated extra- curricular activities. Prepare weekly training schedules. Maintain contact with parents of all Cadets experiencing academic or behavioral problems. Ensure JROTC unit areas are neat and orderly; current chain of command photos, Cadet creed, core abilities and mission statement are present; and all sensitive items are secured. Maintain accountability of all equipment, IAW AR 710-2, including items requiring formal accountability, informal accountability and durable items. Perform duties as pellet rifle team coach and physical fitness team coach.
Qualifications:
The optimal candidate will meet the following criteria
- Retired Commissioned Officer or Warrant Officer.
- Certified by U.S. Army Cadet Command
- Completed background check for Child Care National Agency Checks and Inquiries
- No limiting profiles - requires walking up to three miles and standing for extended periods of time. Willing to work evenings and weekends as necessary for school activities and competitions.
- OK Department of Education Teaching Certificate for ROTC.
- Completion of the Civilian Marksmanship Program JROTC Marksmanship Instructor Course Online.
- Completion of the JROTC School of Cadet Command Distance Learning Safety and Marksmanship Course.
